Origin
Released on 14 December 2023 and part of Nike's Dunk SB line. This release has a suede upper in Lotus Pink/Digital Pink/Medium Soft Pink. Nike has been putting art on shoes with increasing seriousness, including work with artist Takashi Murakami, who designed a Nike related digital piece in 2022, and the acquisition of the virtual sneaker studio RTFKT in December 2021. Character licensing sits in the same territory: it is a question of whose drawing gets to sit on the panel. This SB Dunk Low Pro gives the shoe to Blossom, the red one and the leader of the trio, and builds the colourway around her rather than splitting the palette across a set. Red does something different to the Dunk than blue does. It reads as authority instead of play, which suits the character and gives the pair a distinctly different temperature to its siblings.
Utility
