Released on 20 June 2025 and part of the Revolution 8 line. This release has a mesh upper in Mint Foam/Bleached Turquoise/White/Cannon. Not everything Nike makes is meant to be collected. The Revolution is the accessible end of the running range, the shoe that exists so that the Swoosh is available to someone buying their first pair of trainers, and it matters more to the company's actual business than most limited releases do. That has been true since Blue Ribbon Sports sold 1,300 pairs of imported running shoes in its first year in 1964 and built from there. This women's version in Mint Foam with Bleached Turquoise takes the plainest shoe in the range and gives it a genuinely pretty palette, two soft cool tones instead of the usual grey.
Two uses. Light activity: short runs, gym cardio, walking and travel days, worn with a thin technical sock and laced firmly through the midfoot since a soft upper offers little lockdown on its own. Casual: pale grey or cream joggers and a white tee, where the mint and turquoise read as spring colour rather than as gym kit. Not a shoe for distance training or for lateral sport. Size true with a thumbnail of toe room. Hand clean the textile upper with mild soap and a soft brush, air dry with the insoles out, and avoid machine washing, which distorts a soft knit upper permanently.
Nike's cultural weight was built at the top, through Steve Prefontaine as its first track endorser, through the 1984 Michael Jordan signing and through Just Do It, written by Dan Wieden in 1988 and launched with an eighty year old runner named Walt Stack. That advertisement is the point: it was never aimed at elite athletes. Entry level running shoes are where that promise is actually tested, and in markets like India, where Nike has long been criticised for pricing roughly thirty percent above competitors, an accessible model carries a lot of weight.
A light, simple running build: a knit or engineered textile upper designed to breathe and flex with minimal structure, a soft foam midsole and a rubber outsole patterned for pavement. Nike's weight saving work, from Flywire cables that hold the foot with minimal upper material to Lunarlite foam, is what makes a shoe at this level feel as light as it does. Mint Foam and Bleached Turquoise sit close together, both pale and cool, so the shoe reads as a single soft wash rather than as a two tone scheme. Pale textile uppers pick up dirt quickly and the sockliner is thin, which is the trade for the price.
