Released on 13 February 2025 and part of Nike's Zoom Fly 6 line. This release has a mesh upper in Bright Crimson/Lime Blast/Mint Foam/Cave Purple. In 2017 Nike launched the Vaporfly, pairing ZoomX foam with a full length carbon fibre plate designed to add spring to every step, and peer research found it could improve marathon times by up to 4.2 percent. That result rewrote the category, and the Zoom Fly line is where the same architecture becomes something you can put mileage through rather than save for a start line. This sixth generation arrives in Bright Crimson with Lime Blast, which is race day dress in the most literal sense. Distance running has used aggressive complementary colour to make athletes legible at speed and on television since long before it was a fashion decision, and a crimson and lime runner is a shoe designed to be seen moving.
First recipe, training: black shorts and a plain singlet, letting the crimson and lime be the only colour on you, which is exactly how race kit is usually assembled. Save this shoe for tempo sessions, intervals and long runs at effort rather than easy recovery days, because plated trainers reward pace and feel wooden when you jog them. Second recipe, off duty: grey sweatpants and a black hoodie, where the bright pair reads as sport rather than fashion. Do not try to match crimson or lime with anything else. Fit true to size with a thumb of toe room, use a runner's loop if your heel lifts, and air dry away from heat to protect the midsole foam.
Nike's running authority is old and repeatedly renewed. Bowerman's waffle tread, produced by pouring rubber into his wife's waffle iron, gave the 1972 Moon Shoe and 1974 Waffle Trainer their grip, and the company's endorsement line runs from Steve Prefontaine through Sebastian Coe, Carl Lewis, Michael Johnson and Allyson Felix. The modern chapter ended in regulation rather than prohibition: on 31 January 2020 World Athletics capped sole thickness at 40mm, limited shoes to one rigid plate and required four months of general retail availability, and compliant Vaporfly models remained legal. Loud colour on a plated trainer is part of the same argument, a shoe that wants you to know it is built for pace.

Nike's Dri-FIT moisture management thinking runs through its performance textiles. In Bright Crimson with Lime Blast, the two tone split makes the midsole geometry and toe spring read clearly from the side.
