Released on 12 December 2023 and part of the ReactX Infinity Run line. This release has a flyknit upper in Light Armory Blue/Star Blue/Court Blue/Black. The Infinity Run line was built around consistency rather than speed, a wide stable platform with generous cushioning for runners accumulating mileage week after week. The fourth generation moves to ReactX foam, part of the same engineering turn that produced Nike Grind, the programme that recycles manufacturing scrap and worn shoes back into new product and surfaces. Light Armory Blue with Green is a soft, washed palette, a pale blue with green running through it, and it is the version of this shoe that most obviously admits it will be worn on the way to things as well as during them. That is honest. Most cushioned trainers spend more hours walking than running.
Recipe one, running: navy or black shorts, a light blue technical tee, white socks, keeping everything inside the shoe's cool washed palette. Recipe two, off duty: stone or grey chinos, a white tee, a light green overshirt, where the muted colours let a running shoe pass as ordinary footwear. Use it for easy runs, long runs and commuting mileage on road and treadmill, and keep it off trails where the pale upper will not last a single outing. True to size with a thumb of toe room. Wipe the upper before grime sets, air dry away from radiators, and never machine wash a foam midsole.
Nike Grind recycles manufacturing scrap and worn shoes back into new product and surfaces, and the company partnered with Newlight Technologies in 2021 on AirCarbon bioplastic, which places foam generations like this one inside a longer materials programme rather than a single product cycle. The brand's running authority itself traces to Steve Prefontaine, Bowerman's pupil at Oregon and the first track endorser, with a statue at Nike headquarters, and to the Just Do It line written by Dan Wieden in 1988 and first aired with 80 year old runner Walt Stack, which spoke to ordinary participants rather than professionals. A cushioned daily trainer is that message as a physical object.
A cushioned neutral trainer built on ReactX foam with a wide base and a rockered profile, which is what gives the Infinity line its smooth, stable roll through the step. The upper is engineered for breathability with structured lockdown at the midfoot, essential on a wide platform where fit determines stability. Light Armory Blue carries the upper with green accents, a pale combination that will show road grime faster than any dark colourway, so this is a dry weather and clean surface shoe. The ride is protective and consistent rather than fast, and the failure mode is compression: the foam will feel flat before the upper looks used. Neutral support means no stability correction.
