Released on 4 July 2023 and part of the ZG23 line. This release has a synthetic upper in Cloud White/Lucid Blue/Silver Metallic. ZG23 is the lightweight, low-to-ground end of adidas golf, made for players who prefer feel over platform. In White with Lucid Blue it drops the clubhouse conservatism entirely: the blue is bright and saturated, a colour choice that belongs to modern tournament kit rather than to tradition. That tension is the point. adidas has built performance footwear for specific events since Adi Dassler was watching athletes in Herzogenaurach rather than guessing at what they needed, and golf is a category where the brand has been happy to make the equipment look fast even when the sport dresses slowly.
On course, use technical socks and lace firmly through the midfoot, since lightweight golf shoes rely on lockdown rather than mass. Two ways to wear it. First, the intended fit: white or grey golf trousers with a navy or white polo, letting the Lucid Blue be the only strong colour on you. Second, off course: black tapered trousers with a white tee, where the blue reads as a deliberate accent rather than sports kit. Clean grass stain the same day, keep the traction clear, dry naturally away from heat, and store out of sunlight so the blue does not dull before the shoe wears out.
Golf sits in the engineering half of adidas, alongside Boost, the thermoplastic polyurethane developed with BASF and launched in adidas running in 2013, and the adizero racing platform with its carbon rods rather than a single plate. This is the part of the business that keeps the brand's performance claims honest, in a company that reports 23.683 billion euros of annual revenue and 62,035 employees, second only to Nike. Bright colour on a golf shoe is a small cultural statement inside a conservative sport, and adidas has always been more comfortable making that statement than most.
A lightweight golf build with a low-profile sole and traction designed for rotational stability through the swing rather than straight-line grip. Synthetic and mesh panels keep weight down, while the Three Stripes work across the midfoot as structure, the reinforcing role the mark has had on adidas uppers throughout. Bright blue on a white ground is the harder combination to maintain, because grass stain shows on the white and the blue fades under long sun exposure. Clean the same day with a damp cloth and mild soap, brush turf out of the outsole, and dry away from heat. Store out of direct light to protect the saturated panels.
