Take the Handball Spezial, a shoe adidas built for a fast indoor court sport, and swap its suede for Cordura, and you get a different proposition. The silhouette still comes from the same instinct that started the company, Adolf Dassler making purpose built shoes for specific athletic events rather than general purpose trainers. Focus Olive keeps it in utility territory: a flat, slightly grey green that belongs to field jackets and duffel bags rather than to sportswear brights. The result reads less like a retro court shoe and more like something issued. If the standard Spezial is a terrace shoe, this one is the version built to survive a commute, a worksite and a wet week.
