Released on 13 July 2025 and part of adidas's Gazelle line. This release has a mesh upper in Sand Strata/Preloved Brown/Gum. The Gazelle Indoor belongs to the part of adidas built for gym floors and indoor court sport, where a low, close cut upper and a flat gripping sole mattered more than cushioning. That thinking traces straight to Adolf Dassler, who began making sports shoes in his mother's laundry room in Herzogenaurach and built the company around shoes made for one event at a time rather than one shape for everything. The Crochet Pack takes that gym utility somewhere softer. Sand Strata reads as a layered desert neutral, warm rather than stark, the sort of tone that looks worn in on the first day. The crochet treatment pulls the shoe away from terrace uniform and towards something handmade, and on a women's last it becomes a quiet Originals piece where the Trefoil does the signalling instead of colour.
Sand Strata is a neutral that behaves like a colour, so treat it as the warm point in an otherwise cool outfit. Recipe one: straight leg ecru denim with a slight break, a washed grey tee and a navy overshirt, so the sand reads deliberate instead of beige on beige. Recipe two: a long chocolate or olive skirt with ribbed socks pulled just above the ankle, letting the crochet texture sit against knit. This is dry weather footwear. Open textured uppers hold dust and monsoon spray, so brush with a soft dry brush before marks set, spot clean rather than soaking the shoe, and keep it out of a washing machine entirely. Size it the way you would any low indoor profile, snug through the midfoot, thin socks over thick.
adidas has two cultural engines and this shoe sits squarely on the second. The first is sport: Jesse Owens wore Dassler handmade spikes at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, and the Superstar's shell toe went on to dominate 1970s NBA courts. The second is everything the brand never paid for. The Superstar and the Stan Smith became the base layer of European football terrace and casual dressing, and that is the world a flat indoor silhouette lives in, worn unshowy with the Trefoil as the only tell. The Trefoil was designed in 1971 and launched for the 1972 Munich Olympics, and now marks adidas Originals. A crochet women's execution is that same code loosened, textural and personal rather than tribal.

The crochet treatment is the point of this pair: an open, worked texture across the upper that breaks up what is usually one clean panel, so the shoe catches light unevenly and softens at the flex points instead of creasing into a hard line. Sand Strata keeps tonal contrast low, which lets that texture carry the shoe. Expect the indoor court profile throughout, slim through the waist, low to the ground, no bulk stacked under the heel.
