Designed by Peter Moore and released on 11 August 2021 as part of Nike's Dunk line. This release has a leather upper in Sail/Vintage Green/Total Orange/White. Camouflage on a Nike is never really about concealment, it is about pattern, and the multicamo idea takes that to its logical end by putting several camouflage patterns on one shoe so none of them can do their job. Set against an off white base, the effect is softened rather than military, closer to a print study than to fatigues. The SE designation is Nike's licence to add material or graphic interest to a standard model, and on a Dunk Low that usually means the panels stop matching and start conversing. Style code DH0957 100 identifies this execution. It is the kind of release that rewards close looking, since every overlay carries a different scale of pattern.
Let the print sit against solids. Wear it with olive or stone cotton trousers and a plain white tee so the camouflage has room, or with black straight denim and a cream crewneck for a colder weather version where the off white base ties the outfit together. Avoid pairing camo with camo, and keep the rest of your outfit unpatterned. This is a weekend, street and travel shoe. Sizing follows the standard Dunk Low, which runs slightly long. Spray a fabric protector before the first wear, brush dry dirt off rather than washing, spot clean the base with a barely damp cloth, and keep it out of strong sun so the print tones do not shift.
Camouflage entered fashion the same way Nike's court shoes did, by leaving its original purpose behind and becoming a signal instead. From the 1980s onward Air Force 1s, Air Jordans and Air Max models became staples of mainstream American youth dress and status markers in urban and hip hop style, and the Dunk followed them, particularly once Nike SB made the silhouette a canvas for graphic ideas that had nothing to do with basketball. A multicamo shoe is the endpoint of that logic: a pattern designed for disappearing, used on a shoe designed to be noticed.
Multiple camouflage prints across separate overlays is the build, which means the shoe's success depends on print registration and on how the tones sit against the off white base. Printed and patterned panels behave differently from plain leather: they resist polishing, they show water marks, and once soiled they are harder to bring back, so this is a shoe to protect before wearing rather than after. The underlying Dunk Low platform is unchanged, flat and stable with a low collar and a firm ride, descended from Nike's long habit of building tread with grip as the first priority, a discipline that started with Bowerman's waffle iron sole.
