Designed by Peter Moore and released on 27 December 2024 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Pink Foam/Fire Red/White. Fire Red is one of the founding Jordan 1 tones, part of the red, black and white palette that now functions as brand colouring in its own right. Pairing it with Pink Foam pulls that heritage red into a softer register, and putting the combination on a grade school Mid makes the intent obvious: this is the Jordan 1 built for a first pair rather than a hundredth. That matters more than it sounds. The line began when Nike signed a rookie on 26 October 1984 hoping to buy a young player's identity rather than a superstar's, and the brand has kept that instinct for reaching people early.
Soft pink with a heritage red wants simple company. Wear it with white or cream trousers and a plain tee so the two reds stay clearly separated, or with light denim and a grey sweatshirt for an everyday version that keeps the pink as the only bright note. Avoid any other pink in the outfit, which muddies the contrast. Grade school sizing runs smaller than adult sizing, so check the conversion before buying. Protect the pale panels before first wear, wipe marks off immediately rather than at the end of the week, keep them out of rain, and clean the midsole with a mild solution.
Grade school releases are how the Jordan 1 renews its audience: every generation gets the pattern at the size it needs, and by the time those buyers reach adult sizing the shape is already familiar. The Mid sits between the Low and the High in collar height, using a moulded ankle instead of the High's folded padded shape, with the familiar blocked panel layout across toe, quarter and eyestay and a stitched Swoosh. The outsole is rubber with the forefoot pivot circle. Grade school builds follow the same pattern in a smaller last, which means the same break in behaviour, a firm first week and then a softer collar. Pale pink panels mark easily and are the first thing to look tired, so protection before the first wear does more here than on any adult colourway. Lace to the top for a clean collar line.
