This collaboration represents the first low-cut iteration of the Air Jordan 1 KO, a model initially introduced in 1986. The AJKO, or Air Jordan Knock Off, was conceived as a more accessible alternative to the Air Jordan 1, distinguished by its canvas upper and Nike Vandal tooling. This project sees a partnership between Jordan Brand and Union LA, a brand celebrated for its iconic collaborations. It draws inspiration from the sportswear aesthetics prevalent in Black and Latino cultures during the mid-to-late 1980s.
