Released on 15 June 2025 and part of the Adizero Adios Pro 4 line. This release has a lightlock upper in Flash Aqua/Lucid Lemon/Mint Ton. The Adizero Adios started life in 2008 as a stripped back marathon flat, and the Pro line grew out of it as adidas answered the carbon plated arms race head on. By the fourth generation the shoe is a full super shoe, lighter and softer than the Adios Pro 3 it replaces, with the rod inflection point pushed to sixty percent of the shoe's length so the leverage sits under your midfoot. The Flash Aqua Lucid Lemon build, style code JR1251, is the loudest thing the silhouette has worn. Profile 3-Stripes carry the Lucid Lemon flash, the Lightstrike Pro midsole takes the aquatic tone straight through, and Silver Metallic hits on the stripe logo catch light at speed. The palette borrows shades adidas ran on the Evo SL trainer, so the two read as a matched race day set.
Race day is the obvious call. Pair the Adizero Adios Pro 4 Flash Aqua Lucid Lemon with black or charcoal split shorts and a plain singlet so the aqua and lemon do the talking, and save the pair for tempo sessions and start lines rather than daily mileage. Off the road it holds up with cropped nylon track pants and a fitted tee for a running club look that does not read like fancy dress. Sizing is the thing to get right: owners report it running slightly small with a narrow toebox, so if you have a wide foot or you are racing a full marathon, take half a size up. Never machine wash it. Brush the mesh dry, wipe the midsole, and store the shoes uncompressed so the Lightstrike Pro keeps its rebound.
The Adios Pro family is where adidas makes its case in the super shoe conversation, and the credibility is earned rather than marketed: the ultralight sibling in the same family, the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1, carried the women's marathon world record at Berlin. That halo is why you see the Pro 4 on start lines from Mumbai to Bengaluru, on runners who have no interest in matching anyone's brand loyalty and every interest in a personal best. This Flash Aqua Lucid Lemon colorway pushed the model out of the pure performance aisle and into general rotation, because an aqua midsole with lemon stripes photographs like nothing else in a race day kit flatlay. Running clubs picked it up fast for exactly that reason.
Two full length layers of Lightstrike Pro sit under you, and the reformulated supercritical compound measures notably softer than the Adios Pro 3's, so mile twenty lands plush instead of punishing. Five carbon infused EnergyRODS 2.0 run midfoot to toe, shaped to the anatomy of your foot rather than dropped in as one flat plate, which is why toe off rolls instead of snapping. The upper is featherlight engineered mesh with an internal LIGHTLOCK band wrapping from the heel around both sides to the throat, giving you lateral hold without weight. Underfoot, LIGHTTRAXION tread carries a Continental rubber patch at the ball of the foot for grip on wet tarmac. The whole thing comes in around 200g in a men's US 9, roughly eight percent lighter than the last generation.
