Designed by Bruce Kilgore and part of Nike's Air Force 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Black/Black/Black. The Air Force 1 landed in 1982 as a basketball shoe, and its whole reason for existing was cushioning: Bruce Kilgore was the first designer to work Nike Air into a hoops silhouette, and the pitch was that it absorbed shock about 30 percent better than what players were used to. Nike pulled it from shelves in 1984, then brought it back in 1986 with the modern Swoosh, and the court slowly became the least important place it lived. Harlem adopted it hard enough to rename it, Uptowns. Triple Black is the version that outlasted every trend cycle: same Kilgore proportions, same cupsole, all the contrast stripped out. Style code CW2288 001 is the current Air Force 1 '07 build, an everyday shoe rather than a limited drop, which is exactly why it never leaves rotation.
Two ways to run it. One: straight-leg black or indigo denim with a slight break so only the toe and midsole show, a boxy tee, a bomber on top, and the pair reads as punctuation rather than a statement. Two: charcoal or olive cargos cuffed once, an oversized hoodie and a crossbody, the version that handles airports, gigs and fourteen-hour city days. Stack height runs roughly 31.7 mm at the heel and 17.2 mm at the forefoot, real height with no rocker feel. The rubber outsole carries the heritage hoops pivot circles and grips cleanly on tile and pavement. It is a heavy shoe at about 465 g in a men's US 9, and lab testing scored toe box durability a full five out of five. Breathability sits at three out of five, the all-leather trade-off.
