The Carson large tote sits in the part of Michael Kors that actually built the company. Kors opened his women's ready to wear label at Bergdorf Goodman in New York in 1981, aged twenty two, on a plain American sportswear argument: luxury should have the ease of separates and a price a working woman can reach. The MICHAEL Michael Kors line, launched in 2004 with handbags, shoes and ready to wear at accessible prices, carried that argument into accessories and turned a designer name into a global handbag business.
