Two ways to deploy it. First, as a gym-to-office fragrance: spray after showering, on the chest and wrists, wearing cotton or linen, which is the combination a toilette is engineered for and where a heavier tier would sit badly by midday. Second, as a weekend fragrance: three sprays before brunch or a daytime wedding function, worn with casual clothing, where the brightness of a toilette matches the register of what you have on. Carry a small decant if your day runs past eight. Store the bottle upright and boxed rather than on a bathroom shelf, where steam and temperature swings will shorten its life.

Dior's grip on menswear is what makes a bottle with this name mean something beyond fragrance. Hedi Slimane ran Dior Homme from 2000 to 2007 and produced the skinny rock silhouette that defined the decade, with Brad Pitt and Mick Jagger among documented wearers. Kris Van Assche followed from 2007 to 2018, then Kim Jones from 2018 to 2025 pushed the house into the centre of luxury streetwear, the 2020 Air Dior Jordan 1 being the sharpest single object of that period. The eau de toilette is the widest door into all of it, and for most buyers in India it is the first Dior object they own outright.

Toilette strength means the highest alcohol content and the lightest oil load of the standard concentrations, which is a functional advantage in this climate rather than a compromise. It flashes off fast, opens loudly and sits lighter through a hot afternoon than any concentrate would. Practically, that means you spray more and you spray higher: chest, throat, both wrists, three or four presses total, and you accept that a second application before evening is part of owning a toilette rather than a failure of it. Never spray into a cupped hand and pat it on. Keep the bottle in its box, away from a sunlit dresser, and use an opened one within a couple of years.
