Designed by Kanye West and released on 12 March 2022 as part of adidas's Yeezy Boost 350 line. This release has a primeknit upper in Core Black/Core White/Core Black. The 350 V2 landed as the fix for everything people wanted changed about the first Yeezy Boost: more Boost underfoot, a longer and sleeker last, and that oversized SPLY-350 stripe running the length of the shoe. The Core Black and Core White pair, style code BY1604, dropped on December 17, 2016 at 220 USD and closed out the silhouette's first year on shelves. The Oreo nickname arrived instantly, because a cream stripe cutting across a black knit upper looks like exactly one thing. For years this was among the harder V2s to actually see on feet, sitting in the same conversation as Zebra and Beluga without ever being as common, and it returned in a much wider 2024 release, which is how most people finally got a pair.
Two fits that work. Streetwear default: black Oreos with cropped cargos or tapered joggers and a heavyweight hoodie, letting the black knit ground the fit while the cream stripe does the accent work. Smarter: grey tailored trousers cut short at the ankle, a plain crew and a wool overcoat, where the low sleek profile reads closer to a dress shoe than a trainer. This is an all-day walking shoe more than a gym shoe, and the Boost earns its keep on airport days. Sizing is the thing to get right: the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 runs small, so take at least half a size up from your usual and a full size if your feet are wide. Clean the Primeknit with a soft brush and mild soap, then air dry out of direct sun so the cream stripe stays cream.
The 350 V2 is the shoe that turned Boost from a running technology into a status object, and Core Black with Core White is its most wearable form. The upper is Primeknit, a single stretch-knit sock that wraps your foot with almost no seams to rub, which is why the 350 V2 disappears once it is laced. The knit runs core black across the whole shoe, cut by a cream side stripe carrying the SPLY-350 text, and that stripe is woven into the upper rather than printed on top, so it does not crack or peel with wear. Underneath sits full-length Boost, thousands of fused TPU pellets that give energy back on every step instead of packing down the way standard foam does. adidas caps that in a translucent black midsole cage which holds the Boost's shape and keeps it from splaying out under your weight on long days.
