Released on 1 October 2025 and part of the Adizero Adios Pro 4 line. This release has a lightlock upper in Shock Pink/Zero Metalic/Aurora Plum. The Adios Pro is the top of the adizero pyramid, the shoe adidas builds for people racing against a clock. Its lineage runs directly back to the company's founding logic, when Adolf Dassler made purpose built shoes for individual events and the brothers put their handmade spikes on Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Nothing about a fourth generation racing shoe is casual. Shock Pink is the standard language of that world: race day colours are loud on purpose, so a shoe reads on television, in a crowd and in a finish line photograph. If you are not racing, this is the most serious shoe you can buy for the wrong reason.
On the road, this is a race and race simulation shoe. Wear it for goal races, sharpening sessions and time trials, use thin technical socks, and lace it firmly through the midfoot because a minimal upper depends on lacing for hold. Give the shoe a couple of runs before race day so you learn how the rods want you to land, and keep your slower mileage in something else. Off the road, Shock Pink is a colour decision: pair it with black or grey technical clothing and let it be the only bright thing you own. Never machine wash it, air dry away from heat, and retire it when the outsole rubber wears through.
Modern distance running has been reshaped by midsole engineering, and adidas has fought that battle with rods rather than a plate, a genuinely different answer from the rest of the field. That technical argument is the reason people care about this model, and it belongs to the performance side of the company, marked by the three angled bars introduced in 1997 rather than by the Trefoil. There is a second effect: bright racing shoes have become street objects, bought by people who like what a serious training culture looks like. Shock Pink was chosen for visibility on a start line, and it does the same job on a pavement.
adizero racing shoes are built around a specific idea. Instead of a single stiff carbon plate, the line uses thermoplastic polyester elastomer midsoles with embedded carbon rods, which allows the sole to stay rigid where it needs to drive you forward while flexing more naturally across the forefoot. Around that sits the lightest upper adidas can make work, a thin engineered mesh with almost no overlays, a minimal tongue and a cut down collar, all of it carrying the Shock Pink. Outsole rubber is placed sparingly to save weight. This is a shoe with a limited competitive life: save it for race days and key sessions rather than daily mileage, and dry it in shade.
