Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released on 12 September 2020 as part of the Air Jordan 5 line. This release has the Apple Green/Black/Yellow Strike/Black colourway. College basketball is part of Jordan Brand's structure, not a side project: programmes carrying the brand include North Carolina, Michael Jordan's own university, plus Georgetown, Cincinnati and Michigan, and the brand became sole equipment provider to the Michigan Wolverines football team in 2016. An Oregon coded Air Jordan 5 Retro SE sits in that campus tradition, taking Tinker Hatfield's most aggressive silhouette and dressing it in a school palette. The 5 is from the stretch where the line stopped being one signature shoe and became a design series with its own vocabulary, and school make ups are the clearest evidence that the vocabulary now works outside professional sport.
