Released on 1 July 2025 and part of the Jordan Hydro Slide line. This release has a synthetic upper in Black/Gym Red/White. The Hydro slides are Jordan Brand's recovery footwear, the thing you put on when the shoes come off, and each one borrows its identity from a numbered model. Hydro 11 takes the Air Jordan XI, the model Tinker Hatfield put patent leather on, bringing a formal wear material onto a basketball court for the first time and creating the one Jordan people genuinely wear with suits. Bred is the black and red pairing that has functioned as a brand colour since Chicago, red, black and white doing the work of a logo. Putting the XI's most famous palette on a pool slide is the brand acknowledging that its codes now travel further than its shoes do.
Two straightforward uses. First, post training and poolside: straight out of a gym bag, worn with or without socks depending on how much you care about opinions. Second, the summer outfit: black shorts, a white tee, and the red accents doing exactly what a red cap would do. Black socks with black slides reads intentional, white socks reads sport, mismatched reads accidental. Rinse them with fresh water after pool or sea use because chlorine and salt dull the finish. Air dry out of direct sun, never on a radiator, and do not put them in a washing machine. Keep the footbed dry between wears if you are wearing them barefoot.
The Air Jordan XI's patent leather is the reason a basketball shoe ended up at weddings, and the Bred palette is the single most quoted colour idea in sneakers. That reach came from the collision of basketball and hip hop, from Spike Lee's Mars Blackmon advertising and from 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Ice Cube and Jay-Z putting the shoes into their music. By 2022 Jordan Brand was generating about 5.1 billion dollars for Nike, and slides are where that brand equity meets a hotel corridor. It is the least serious product in the catalogue carrying the most serious colourway, and that joke is the whole appeal.
A slide is honest about what it is: a moulded footbed, a single strap over the forefoot, nothing to lace and nothing to break in. The Bred treatment puts black across the body with red as the accent, which is why the palette works so well on a slide, dark where the dirt goes and bright where the branding sits. There is no upper to crease and no collar to collapse, so the only real wear points are the strap lining and the tread. Style code FN2452 006 identifies this pair. Slides run differently to shoes, sitting closer to a whole size fit, so check the sizing chart rather than assuming your trainer size carries over.
