Asics Gel Kayano 31 Piedmont Grey/Fiery Red

Released on 1 June 2024 and part of ASICS's Gel Kayano 31 line. This release has a mesh upper in Piedmont Grey/Fiery Red. The Gel-Kayano is ASICS' long-running stability franchise, and unusually for a mass running line, it is named after a person: Toshikazu Kayano, the ASICS designer responsible for every model in the series up to the fourteenth. That fourteenth release, which arrived in 2008, was the first designed by another hand, Hidenori Yamashita, a handover that itself signals how long a single designer shaped the line. Few running franchises sustain a numbered series deep into double digits; the Kayano has, iterating year over year while keeping cushioning and support at the centre of the design.
