Released on 31 May 2025 and part of Nike's Dunk SB line. This release has a suede upper in Pale Ivory/Summit White/White Copper Moon/Black. Pale ivory is the softest colour Nike puts on a skate shoe, a warm off white that looks like unbleached canvas rather than like a sneaker. On an SB Dunk Low Pro it is a slightly contrary choice, since this is a shoe engineered to be destroyed on a board and ivory shows every mark of that destruction. Plenty of skaters consider that a feature. The Dunk's panelled upper takes tonal treatments well because the panel edges and stitching carry the design when colour steps back, an approach Nike has used since it learned that the Swoosh, first used in June 1971, reads even without contrast around it.
Pair it with washed black jeans and a cream hoodie so the shoe extends the light tones and the outfit stays soft. Or wear it with olive cargo trousers and a white tee, letting the ivory sit as the brightest point without becoming stark. Suited to skating, daily wear, dry weather and daytime; ivory is not a monsoon shoe. SB Dunks fit slightly snug with a padded tongue that settles after a week, so take your usual size. Brush suede dry before doing anything else, use a suede eraser rather than soap, and treat the upper with a protector spray before the first wear.
Skateboarding took Nike's court shoes without permission long before Nike built a line for skaters, and Nike SB has spent its existence proving it deserves the audience. The 2005 Minor Threat album art incident, which ended with a public rebuke from Ian MacKaye and an apology from Nike, is the clearest example of how carefully that relationship has to be handled. Neutral SB colourways like this one sit outside the collector cycle entirely. They are bought to be skated or to be worn plainly, which in a market obsessed with limited releases is its own kind of statement.
SB Pro construction means the shoe is specified for impact: a fat padded tongue that spreads lace pressure, a padded collar, and Zoom Air cushioning under the foot. Nike Air is a pressurised gas unit sealed into the midsole, made a visible design feature from the 1987 Air Max onward, and the skate version prioritises ground feel over stack. The upper uses suede or leather panels chosen for abrasion resistance against grip tape. In pale ivory the material choice matters more than usual: the lighter the surface, the faster the wear reads, so this pair will look broken in within weeks of real use.
