Released on 24 January 2025 and part of Nike's Dunk SB line. This release has a suede upper in Parachute Beige/Parachute Beige/Desert Khaki/White. Parachute Beige is Nike SB working in a register it rarely uses: no theme, no artist, no story on the tongue, just a full sand tone Dunk Low Pro B. The Pro build is the skate specific one, and stripping the colour back to a single warm neutral leaves you looking at the panelling itself, the seams the Dunk was drawn with in the mid 1980s when the whole point was that a college could take those panels and paint them its own colours. A monochrome release is the inversion of that idea. It is also, quietly, the version most people wear the most, because a beige skate shoe goes with a wardrobe rather than demanding one.
Neutral suede is a base layer for the whole outfit. Wear it with loose carpenter jeans in washed indigo, a white tee and a navy chore coat, letting the beige soften the contrast. Or run full tonal: brown wide trousers, cream heavy tee, tan cap, and the shoe disappears into the palette in a good way. This is a genuinely usable everyday and skate shoe, comfortable for long days standing, and it fits true to size with a padded, snug collar. Light suede is the catch. Spray it before first wear, brush dry only, never soak it, and keep it away from wet dark denim, because indigo bleeding into pale sand suede does not come out.
Nike SB earned its place in skateboarding through collaboration and product credibility rather than through the advertising machine that built the rest of the company, and the programme has had to learn in public. Its 2005 use of Minor Threat's album art on a tour flyer drew a rebuke from Ian MacKaye and a Nike apology, a moment still cited whenever the brand borrows from a subculture. Set against Nike's mainstream history, where Air Jordans, Air Force 1s and Air Max models became staples of American youth dress and hip hop style, the SB line has always been the quieter, more scrutinised room. A plain beige Dunk is what that room looks like when it is not performing.
Expect the SB Pro package: a padded tongue and collar to absorb board impact, a Zoom Air insole under the foot, and a suede led upper because suede scuffs into a patina instead of tearing at the ollie area. In a single beige tone, texture carries the design, so the difference between the nubuck panels and the smoother overlays is what you actually see. The flat rubber outsole gives grip and board feel, sitting low so you keep contact with the deck. This row carries no style code, so no specific material split or insole spec should be treated as confirmed. What holds is the build philosophy: cushioned where it takes impact, thin where it needs feel.
