Designed by Bruce Kilgore and part of Nike's Air Force 1 line. This release has a leather upper in White/Guava Ice. Nike Grind is the programme that takes manufacturing scrap and worn out shoes and feeds them back into new product and surfaces, and the Next Nature line is where that thinking becomes something you can buy rather than something in a sustainability report. Applying it to the Air Force 1 07 is the strongest possible test, because that model is one of the shoes Nike's own history names as a staple of mainstream American youth dress, and people notice if it feels different. Guava Ice is its colour here: a soft, warm pink with a tropical cast, pale enough to keep the silhouette recognisable and warm enough to stop it reading as plain white.
Guava Ice is a warm pastel, so build warm. Wear it with cream wide leg trousers, a white tee and a tan or camel jacket, letting the pink read as part of a single soft palette. The contrast version: dark indigo straight jeans, a grey sweatshirt and a white cap, where the pink lifts an otherwise cold fit. Avoid bright saturated colours, which flatten a pastel. Air Force 1s run roughly half a size large, so most people should size down half. Protect the upper before wear one, clean the thick midsole with an eraser block, and store away from heat, since pale midsoles yellow in warm cupboards.
The Air Force 1 sits with the Air Jordan and the Air Max in the small group of Nike models that became genuinely ordinary, moving from basketball into hip hop and urban fashion as a status object from the 1980s, then into everyday American dress, then back through 1990s and 2000s casual and athleisure styling. Recycling that shape into a lower waste build is a much bigger statement than doing it on a new silhouette, because it puts the material question on an object millions of people already own an opinion about. The soft pink keeps the argument friendly rather than worthy.
A content build changes the material story without changing the architecture. The Air Force 1 07 keeps its broad panels, thick midsole and flat, stable footprint, but the upper is made using reclaimed material rather than conventional stock, which is the entire point of the exercise: prove the shape survives the substitution. Nike's construction philosophy has always started at the sole, following the principle Bowerman set when he made a rubber tread in a waffle iron, and that priority is unchanged here. uppers can have a slightly different surface texture than standard leather, so treat them gently: mild soap, soft cloth, no solvent, and protect the pale pink before first wear rather than after the first mark appears.
