Released on 1 October 2025 and part of Nike's Air Max 90 line. This release has the White/Pink Glow/Black/Wolf Grey colourway. Nike Air is a pressurised gas unit sealed into the midsole, and from the Air Max line's arrival in 1987 the company made a point of letting you see it. That was the real innovation: not the cushioning, which already existed, but the decision to turn cushioning into a design feature you could look at. The Air Max 90 is the silhouette that made the idea legible, layering panels around a visible window. This women's makeup runs white as the base with Pink Glow lighting up the accent panels and black anchoring the details, a three way split that uses the model's segmented upper exactly as intended, with each layer clearly separated from the one beside it.
Pink Glow is bright, so use it as punctuation. Wear it with light wash straight denim, a white tee and a black nylon jacket, so the pink lifts an otherwise plain fit and the black trim ties back to the outerwear. Alternatively go sporty and tonal: grey track pants cuffed at the ankle, a white cropped hoodie and a light pink cap, letting the colour repeat twice and stop. The Air Max 90 has a roomy forefoot and generally fits true to size, though narrow feet may prefer half down. Never machine wash it, because water sitting in the midsole degrades cushioning, and keep the white panels sealed with a protector spray from day one.
Air Max models are named in Nike's own cultural record alongside Air Jordans and Air Force 1s as the shoes that became staples of mainstream American youth dress, first through the hip hop and urban fashion of the 1980s, then again through 1990s and 2000s casual and athleisure styling. The Air Max in particular did something the others did not: it made technology visible enough to be fashion. A pink and white women's makeup is a long way from a running spec sheet, but it depends on the same original gesture, a company deciding that the mechanism should be part of the look rather than hidden inside it.
The Air Max 90 is built as a stack of distinct sections rather than a single sculpted upper, which is why a three colour makeup reads so cleanly on it: the white base, the pink overlays and the black trim each occupy their own territory. Underfoot is the family's defining element, a pressurised Air unit visible in the midsole, descended directly from the technology the line introduced in 1987. Behind all of it is Bowerman's original conviction that the sole is where a shoe is won or lost, the belief that produced the waffle tread from a kitchen appliance. Care is split by material: brush the mesh dry, wipe the smooth panels, and clean the midsole window carefully so the visible unit stays visible.
