Designed by Kanye West and released on 15 March 2024 as part of the Yeezy Slides line. This release has a eva upper in Salt/Salt/Salt. The Yeezy Slide arrived in December 2019, after a first look in the Yeezy Season presentations, and it did something no sneaker had managed: it made a foam sandal the most argued-about shoe in the room. Salt belongs to the closing stretch of that run, landing on March 15, 2024 through adidas CONFIRMED at 70 dollars retail. The name does the work. Salt is a flat, monochromatic grey, and it reads less like a colorway and more like raw material left deliberately unfinished. That restraint is the whole point of the model. Every Yeezy Slide is a single tone stretched across a single shape, so Salt has to earn attention through proportion alone, and it does exactly that.
Two ways to wear Salt. First, the off-duty uniform: black or washed grey sweatshorts, a boxy tee, crew socks in white or bone, and the slide reads intentional instead of lazy. Second, the airport and monsoon fit: wide grey cargos stacked over the foot, an oversized hoodie, bare feet, because foam does not care about a puddle. Sizing is the one thing to get right when you buy Yeezy Slides in India. They run small and come in whole sizes only, so go half to a full size up from your true size. Care is simple: rinse with cool water and mild soap, wipe with a soft cloth, and air dry out of direct sun so the foam holds its shape.
Slides used to be what you wore from the locker room to the car. The Yeezy Slide dragged them into actual fits, into airports and front rows, and the resale market followed, which is how a 70 dollar sandal started trading like a sneaker. Salt sits in the grey lane that Yeezy regulars treat as the safest entry point: quieter than Onyx, easier to style than the louder earth tones, and hard to date. It also arrived as the adidas Yeezy era was winding down, so it reads as one of the closing entries rather than another seasonal refill. In India that framing matters, and Salt moves through curated marketplaces rather than sitting on a shelf.
One piece of injected EVA foam, top to bottom, is the entire build. There are no seams to split and no glue lines to fail, which is why a pair feels the same on day one and month six. The strap is deliberately wide, covering most of the footbed and the top of your foot, so pressure spreads instead of biting into one narrow band the way a thin thong strap does. The footbed is contoured, giving your arch something to sit into on long standing days. Underneath, horizontal grooves run across the outsole, flexing with your stride and adding grip on tile and wet floors. The whole thing is light enough that you forget you have it on.
