New Balance 9060 Shadow Grey

Released on 11 October 2024 and part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in Shadow Grey/Castlerock/Black. Shadow Grey is a darker, cooler grey than the shade New Balance is famous for, and that small shift matters. The brand's cultural signature is the pale grey of the 990 family, the suburban running shoe worn for comfort rather than status, and taking the 9060 into a deeper grey keeps the house colour while removing the nostalgia attached to it. The 9060 itself is a remix rather than a reissue, warping the 99x line's proportions into something sculpted and contemporary. In this shade the shoe looks less like an homage and more like an object designed now, which is exactly what it is.
