Rotate a normal cushioned trainer for daily mileage to preserve the midsole, never machine wash it, brush grit off the outsole and let it air dry away from heat.

The adizero competitive racing line uses a thermoplastic polyester elastomer midsole with embedded carbon rods rather than a single carbon plate, and that difference is the whole design argument. A plate stiffens the shoe uniformly. Rods let the midsole flex differently under each metatarsal, so the foot's natural splay is preserved while the shoe still returns energy through toe off. The upper is a minimal engineered mesh with very little overlay, because at racing weight every gram of structure is a gram you carry for the full distance.
