Released on 2 February 2025 and part of adidas's Campus line. This release has a leather upper in Cloud White/Night Indigo/Gold Metallic. The Campus 00s is adidas rebuilding one of its own archive shapes at the proportions people actually want now: wider through the forefoot, chunkier in the collar, sitting heavier on the foot than the original ever did. It comes from the Originals side of the house, the division the Trefoil marks after that logo was designed in 1971, launched for the 1972 Munich Olympics and used brand wide until 1997. This pair goes White with Night Indigo, a deep blue that sits closer to ink than to navy, on a denim treatment. That last detail is the one that changes the shoe, because Campus has always been a suede silhouette and denim reads as a deliberate swap rather than a colourway.
Denim on denim is the trap and also the best version, if you break the tone. Recipe one: black or ecru wide leg trousers with a white tee and an indigo chore jacket, so the shoe echoes the jacket and skips the matching problem entirely. Recipe two: light wash baggy jeans with a heavy white sock and a grey hoodie, a deliberately loud contrast that lets the Night Indigo read as the darkest point in the fit. Denim uppers mark with water rings, so keep it away from rain and blot rather than rub if it gets wet. Brush the panels dry, avoid solvent cleaners which will lift the indigo, and expect honest fading.
adidas Originals exists because people took sport shoes and made them daily wear without permission. The Superstar was worn by a reported 75 percent of NBA players by 1973 and then adopted wholesale by hip hop, giving adidas a second life it did not design, and Run-DMC's My Adidas arrived in 1986 as a song before it was ever a contract. The Campus sits in that same lineage of a low court shoe absorbed by music scenes and street dressing rather than by athletes. The 00s version is adidas admitting that the archive belongs to the street now and cutting it to street proportions. Denim in indigo doubles down on that, borrowing from the most ordinary fabric anyone owns.
The 00s cut is the story before the material. It runs wider and squarer than the standard Campus, with a fuller collar and a bulkier tooling, which is why it sits differently under a wide leg trouser. Here the upper is worked in denim rather than the usual napped suede, so the panels hold a flatter, drier surface that will fade at the creases the way jeans do rather than scuffing bright the way suede does. Night Indigo gives it depth; the White midsole and Three Stripes cut it back. Those stripes are structural banding, which is how adidas has used the mark since acquiring it from Karhu Sports in 1952. Expect it to break in by softening at the flex line, and expect the indigo to shift with wear.
