Released on 14 June 2023 and part of the Duramo line. This release has a mesh upper in Core Black/Cloud White/Carbon. Duramo is the workhorse end of adidas running, the shoe built for everyday mileage rather than race day, and Duramo Speed sharpens that brief toward faster training without moving into competition territory. Black Carbon keeps it entirely dark, which is how most people actually want a daily trainer: unremarkable, hard to dirty and easy to wear outside a run. adidas has been building shoes for specific athletic jobs since Adi Dassler was watching competitors in Herzogenaurach instead of guessing, and the honest daily trainer is one of the least glamorous and most useful expressions of that discipline.
Use it for daily runs, tempo work and gym sessions, and rotate with a second pair so the foam recovers between efforts. Wear thin technical socks and lace through the last eyelet for heel lockdown, since a light upper needs the lacing to do the holding. Off the road, all-black running shoes are the easiest to wear casually: pair with black tapered sweats and a grey hoodie, or with dark straight denim and a plain tee for an unobtrusive everyday fit. Air them after every use, wipe rather than wash, and track mileage rather than appearance when deciding to replace them.
adidas running is the category where the brand's engineering claims live, and it is where Boost arrived in 2013, a thermoplastic polyurethane developed with German chemical company BASF whose bounce comes from processing fused pellets rather than from the raw polymer, offering higher energy return and steadier behaviour across temperatures than standard EVA. That work sits alongside the adizero racing platform with its carbon rods. Daily trainers rarely get the headline technology, but they carry the same research downstream, in a company that reports 23.683 billion euros of annual revenue, second only to Nike.
A lightweight engineered mesh upper over a cushioned foam midsole and a rubber outsole, built for repeated road miles rather than for a single fast effort. The Three Stripes appear in the midfoot where they can also work as structure, following the reinforcing logic the mark has carried on adidas uppers throughout. All-black running uppers hide road grime but hold heat, so air them after every run rather than putting them straight in a bag. Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, never machine wash or tumble dry, since bonded midsoles and adhesives fail with heat. Replace the shoe when the midsole stops rebounding rather than when the upper still looks fine.
