Designed by Peter Moore and released on 28 March 2024 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Sail/Anthracite/Jade Smoke. Jade Smoke is a muted green grey, the kind of colour that only makes sense once a shoe has stopped needing to announce itself. It arrives on the women's Air Jordan 1 Mid, which has become the most reliable place in the line for colours that are not Chicago red or Bred black. The silhouette itself is the one Peter Moore designed with Bruce Kilgore after Nike signed Chicago Bulls rookie Michael Jordan on 26 October 1984, released to the public on 1 April 1985 and never really out of production since. Jade Smoke works because the AJ1 pattern has enough panel breaks to hold a soft colour without going flat, and the Mid collar gives it height.
Two fits. Soft and tonal: cream wide leg trousers, an oatmeal knit and a tan bag, letting the jade read as a cool accent against warm neutrals. Or sharpen it: black slim jeans, a white shirt, and a black leather jacket, where the green becomes the only unexpected note. The Mid collar suits a cropped or cuffed hem so the ankle break is visible. Women's sizing runs narrow, so go up half a size if you have a wide foot or wear thick socks. Clean the midsole regularly with a soft brush, wipe the jade leather with a damp cloth rather than soaking it, and keep them out of prolonged sun, which dulls low saturation colour.
Jordan Brand's growth past a single signature model, formalised when it became a standalone Nike division in 1997, is what created space for a colour like this. The roster now includes WNBA athletes Maya Moore and Jordin Canada alongside Jayson Tatum, Zion Williamson and Luka Doncic, and the collaboration programme has run from Off-White and Dior to Billie Eilish and Nicki Minaj on the music side. Muted, non team colourways on the women's Mid are the everyday version of that expansion: the Jumpman as a wardrobe mark rather than a fan mark. It is the AJ1 dressed for a street rather than a stadium.
Leather upper across the standard panel set: perforated toe box, mudguard, eyestay, heel counter and a padded ankle collar carrying the Wings logo, over a rubber cupsole with the forefoot pivot circle. The women's Mid is built on a narrower last than the men's version, so the midfoot holds closer and the collar sits tighter around the ankle. Jade Smoke is a low saturation colour, which means the shoe relies on the white midsole and any white panels for contrast, so a dingy midsole flattens the whole look faster than it would on a dark pair. Keep the sole clean and the green reads sharp.
