Designed by Peter Moore and released on 1 May 2024 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a suede upper in Black/Pine Green/Dune Red/Pine Green/Industrial Blue. MJ's Playground is a kids release that tells the story backwards. Instead of dressing a young wearer in a replica of something Michael Jordan wore on court, it treats the playground as the setting that matters, which for anyone in grade school it is. The base is the Jordan 1 Mid, the cut that made Peter Moore's 1985 shape into an everyday shoe rather than a collector's object. Jordan Brand has been a standalone Nike division since 1997 with its own apparel and youth line, and releases like this exist because the brand no longer needs to justify itself through the NBA. It can just make a fun shoe with the most famous outline in sport.
