Origin
Designed by Peter Moore and released on 15 February 2025 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Black/Black/Varsity Red/White. Black Toe is the Air Jordan 1 in its founding colours: black, Chicago red and white, the three that function as Air Jordan brand colours in their own right. The Reimagined treatment is the High OG revisited with a deliberately aged sensibility rather than a factory fresh one, and this is the GS run, cut for smaller sizes on the same last logic as the adult pair. The shoe itself dates to Peter Moore's design with Bruce Kilgore, produced for Jordan on 17 November 1984 and released to the public on 1 April 1985. Black Toe splits the panels so the toe box and heel go dark while red takes the quarter, which is the arrangement people picture when they picture an Air Jordan 1.
Utility
The palette does most of the styling for you. Black jeans, a white tee and a red or black bomber gives a straight read of the shoe's own colours. For something less matched, put it under grey sweats and a plain black hoodie so the red reads as the only accent in the outfit. High collars want the trouser hem to sit above them, so cuff or crop rather than stack. GS sizing runs smaller than adult numbering, so check the conversion before ordering. Wipe the white midsole after wear, keep red and white leather apart from oils, and unlace fully when taking them off to protect the eyestay.
Influence
This colour split is the visual shorthand for the whole Air Jordan story, and that story was sold through Spike Lee playing Mars Blackmon opposite Jordan in the earliest advertising, and through the Banned campaign built around a league uniform policy that required shoes to be at least 51 percent white. Nike paid the 5,000 dollar per game fine and turned the rule into marketing. Every black, red and white Air Jordan 1 since has traded on that memory. Original 1985 pairs have reached around 20,000 dollars on StockX, and a GS Reimagined pair is how the next generation gets the same silhouette without the auction.
Construction
High OG means the full collar and the original panel proportions, with the Wings mark stamped on the ankle and the Nike Air tongue label rather than a Jumpman. Leather runs across the toe, quarter, eyestay and collar in three colours, so the seam lines are load bearing and the panels have to line up cleanly for the shoe to look right. Foam midsole over a rubber outsole with the pivot circle underfoot. A Reimagined finish leans toward softer, less glossy leather, so expect creasing to arrive quickly and to look intentional rather than damaging. On a GS pair, keep the eyelet row tight since a growing foot moving inside the collar is what stretches leather out of shape.
