Designed by Peter Moore and released on 24 February 2022 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in University Gold/Light Bordeaux/White. Brotherhood puts a deep burgundy and gold reading on the Retro High OG, the truest surviving version of the Air Jordan I that Peter Moore designed with Bruce Kilgore. This is the grade school build, which is where Jordan Brand runs many of its richest colourways because the sizing run is less tied to the men's hype calendar. Burgundy is a colour the 1 wears unusually well: it is close enough to the Chicago red that anchors the brand palette to feel familiar, but dark enough to remove any team reading. The result is a High that carries the original architecture while looking like a considered wardrobe decision rather than a jersey reference.
Burgundy asks for restraint elsewhere. Cream or stone chinos with a navy knit and a white tee gives you a collegiate outfit that stops well short of costume. For a colder version, black denim, a grey heavy hoodie and a dark green jacket puts the red at the bottom as the only warm note. Avoid pairing with bright red garments, since the tones sit close and clash rather than match. The high cut wants a hem that breaks at or just above the collar. Grade school sizing runs smaller than men's, so convert first. Condition the leather occasionally, clean with foam rather than water soaking, and dry away from direct heat.
Jordan Brand outfits North Carolina, Jordan's own university, along with Georgetown, Cincinnati and Michigan, and it signs athletes across leagues: Jayson Tatum, Zion Williamson, Luka Doncic, Russell Westbrook, Trae Young and Chris Paul in the NBA, Maya Moore and Jordin Canada in the WNBA, Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott in the NFL, Aaron Judge and Derek Jeter in baseball. That roster is why the brand can trade on team language without leaning on any single franchise. A rich, collegiate looking red on a High reads as belonging to that world of programmes and rosters rather than to one club, and it ages better for it.
Deep red panels against lighter contrast on the base, with the Swoosh, toe cap and collar following the OG panel seams so the shape stays legible at distance. The high cut gives you the full ankle collar and the complete lace run, the proportions the model has carried since its earliest era, when the Wings logo marked the line. Style code 575441 706 places it in the grade school High series. No published stack heights or material weights exist, so anything specific beyond the visible build is invention. Dark red leather holds colour well but shows salt and water marks, so keep it dry and blot rather than rub when it gets caught out.
