New Balance 550 Burgundy Blue

Released on 8 January 2022 and part of New Balance's 550 line. This release has a leather upper in White/Burgundy/Turquoise. The 550 is the low, leather cut shape in the New Balance line, and it belongs to the brand's court chapter rather than its running one. New Balance's basketball involvement is real and current, from its NBA sponsorship to signing Kawhi Leonard, whose OMN1S signature shoe launched in February 2019, and the 550 is the archive side of that same story worn off court. Burgundy and blue is an unusually collegiate pairing for it, two deep, saturated tones that avoid the obvious red or navy route. It gives a familiar silhouette a colour story with some age to it, which suits a shoe that already looks like it has been in someone's wardrobe for years.
