New Balance 9060 Dark Alpine Green

Part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in Dark Alpine Green/Frosted Glass. Dark Alpine Green is a deep, cold forest tone, and it takes the 9060 somewhere the American side of New Balance rarely goes. The silhouette itself is a distortion of the brand's 99x running shapes, swollen and curved where the originals were flat, but the colour belongs to the brand's European life: the Made in England 99x models had a parallel history in British terrace and casual dressing, where dark, sober colourways were always the preference. Green on a chunky runner reads as understatement in that tradition rather than as a statement, which is exactly how it should be worn.
