New Balance 9060 Magnet

Released on 22 September 2023 and part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in Magnet. Magnet is a mid grey with a metallic hardness to the name and the tone, and it sits right in the middle of what the 9060 is for. This silhouette borrows the panel vocabulary of New Balance's 99x running line and exaggerates it, building height and curve where the archive kept things flat, and a mid grey is the shade that lets you see that geometry without distraction. It is also the most historically loaded colour the brand owns. Grey is what New Balance ran on for decades while everyone else chased white and neon, and Magnet is that inheritance dressed in a shape the 1980s would not have recognised.
