New Balance 9060 Vintage Indigo

Released on 17 July 2024 and part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in Navy/Vintage Indigo/Heron Blue. Vintage Indigo is the 9060 dressed in the one colour that carries as much everyday history as grey does. Denim blue on a shoe built from distorted 99x running references makes a specific argument: that this silhouette belongs to daily clothing rather than to sport. The 9060 pulls its proportions from the line that started with the 990 in 1982 and ran through the 991, 992, 993 and every revision after, the family that became the archetypal American dad shoe before fashion reclaimed it. Rendering that heritage in a washed, faded indigo rather than a saturated blue is the same move as the brand's grey, a colour chosen because it has already been lived in.
