Designed by Bruce Kilgore and released on 20 June 2025 as part of Nike's Air Force 1 line. This release has a leather upper in White/Oil Green. Next Nature is Nike's label for product built with a meaningful proportion of material, and it connects to Nike Grind, the programme that feeds manufacturing scrap and worn out shoes back into new products and surfaces. Putting it on the women's Air Force 1 '07 is a deliberate choice of platform, because this is one of the most reproduced shoes in the world and a materials decision here moves real volume. Oil Green is the colour that keeps it from looking like an announcement: a dark, murky green with grey in it, closer to a workwear tone than to anything you would find on a court. An SE build is where Nike changes the surface rather than the shape.
Two ways to wear it. Straight cut ecru trousers with a cream knit, letting the dark green read as the grounding tone in an otherwise pale outfit. Or black denim with an olive utility jacket, doubling the green so the colour looks chosen rather than incidental. Oil Green sits well with cream, brown, black and grey and fights anything bright. This is an all day standing and walking shoe rather than an athletic one. Air Force 1s fit generously, so a half size down is common on the women's cut. For care, clean the white midsole with a magic sponge before marks set, wipe synthetic uppers with a barely damp cloth, and avoid soaking them.
The Air Force 1 stopped being a basketball shoe decades ago. After the 1984 Michael Jordan signing and the Spike Lee directed Mars Blackmon advertising made Nike the shoe of the game, Air Jordans, Air Force 1s and Air Max models became fixtures of urban and hip hop dress before settling permanently into casual and athleisure wardrobes in the 1990s and 2000s. Because the silhouette carries no active sporting obligation, it is the one Nike uses to move an idea across a huge audience, whether that idea is a collaboration or a materials programme. Recycling only counts at the scale this shoe operates on.
The Air Force 1 architecture does not move: a thick flat midsole, a padded collar, a pivot circle at the forefoot and broad panels across the quarter. What Next Nature changes is what those panels are made of, using content in the upper and sole components, which gives the surface a flatter, more matte hand than virgin leather and makes it take marks differently. Oil Green is a dark mid tone, so it hides dust well and shows salt and water lines clearly, particularly against the pale midsole. The women's '07 pattern sits on a slimmer last than the men's, so the overlays wrap closer and the collar sits nearer the ankle.
