Released on 13 November 2024 and part of the Jordan Spizike line. This release has a leather upper in White/University Blue/Wolf Grey/Anthracite. UNC is not just a colour, it is the beginning of the whole story. North Carolina is Michael Jordan's own university and one of the college basketball programmes Jordan Brand carries, alongside Georgetown, Cincinnati and Michigan, so a pale blue and white makeup is the brand pointing at where its founder came from before Chicago existed on his record. This is the grade school version of the Spizike Low, a model named after Spike Lee, who directed Nike's earliest Air Jordan advertising and played Mars Blackmon in it. A kid wearing UNC blue is wearing the oldest reference in the catalogue, which is a nice thing to know and an easier thing to explain than most of them.
Light blue is friendlier than it looks. Recipe one: white shorts and a white tee for summer, where the UNC blue is the only colour and the fit stays clean. The low cut and full lacing let you tune the fit as a foot grows, which matters more than anything else at this size.
