Hoka's house geometry, a low heel to toe drop under a rounded sole, is what keeps a stack this generous from feeling stodgy: the roll does the work your legs would otherwise do. The heel sits down inside the midsole walls, a bucket seat idea that gives steadiness without adding stiff parts, which matters more the taller the shoe gets. A mid grey finish is forgiving of dust and light spray but shows salt marks after wet runs, so rinse, brush and air dry in shade rather than by a heater.
