Released on 16 July 2025 and part of Hoka's Clifton 10 line. This release has a jacquard upper in Oatmeal/Oat Milk. Clifton is the model that carried Hoka out of the mountains and onto ordinary roads, the cushioned daily trainer that made the brand's founding idea usable by people who were never going to run an ultra. The tenth version in Oatmeal takes that accessibility further. A soft grain neutral, warmer than grey and softer than white, is not what anyone expected from a brand that introduced itself in 2009 with loud colour blocking and midsoles two to three times thicker than normal. It is what the Clifton has become: the pair you reach for by default, on a run or not, with the exaggerated sidewall stack reading as texture rather than as a statement.
Two combinations. First, soft neutrals: ecru wide leg trousers or oatmeal sweats, a white tee, and a tan or brown outer layer so the whole outfit sits in one warm family. Second, denim and navy: straight leg raw denim with a navy knit, letting the pale midsole break up the dark. It works for long standing shifts, city walking, easy road mileage and travel. Fit true to size with a thumbnail of room at the front. Because the colour is pale, use a fabric protector before the first wear, keep a suede or textile brush nearby, and rotate with another pair so the foam has a day to recover.
The Clifton is the model most responsible for Hoka's second wave. Once the cushioning translated from trail to road, hospital staff working twelve hour shifts adopted the cushioned road shoes by word of mouth, and that recommendation loop carried the brand into general awareness far faster than advertising did. The Clifton is also the shape fashion has borrowed most often: Outdoor Voices reworked a Clifton 4, and Satisfy Running built a trail ready Clifton LS. Oatmeal is the colour that acknowledges all of it. It is a running shoe that has accepted it will spend most of its life walking, standing and being seen rather than racing.
The Clifton brief is cushion without weight, which is the low weight to cushion ratio the founders chased with their first oversized outsoles. Underfoot you get Hoka's house geometry, a low heel to toe drop paired with a rounded sole that tips you into the next step, so easy miles feel less like work than the stack height suggests. The heel sinks into the midsole walls rather than sitting on top of them, and that cradle is where the calm comes from. Oatmeal is a light neutral, so it will pick up grass, dust and road spray. Brush it dry rather than soaking it, spot clean with mild soap the day a mark appears, and let it air out fully between wears.
