New Balance 574 Sneakers Red

Released on 10 August 2023 and part of New Balance's 574 line. This release has a suede upper in Maroon/Grey. Red is a kit colour before it is a fashion colour, and putting it on the 574 connects New Balance's two businesses in one shoe. The 574 is the model that made the brand a volume seller, a shoe deliberately built to do everything rather than one thing, running on ENCAP, the midsole introduced with the 995 in 1986 and still used under the 574 and the 990. Where the greys made New Balance the plain choice, red does the opposite: it turns a support engineered everyday shoe into something with an allegiance, which is why this colour has always sold hardest in places where sport is worn as identity.
