Nike Mind 001 X Fragment Black

Released on 19 March 2026 and part of the Mind 001 line. This release has the Black/Black colourway. Nike has always let outsiders name and mark its work. The company's own name was coined by an employee, Jeff Johnson, after the Onitsuka Tiger relationship ended in 1972, and the Swoosh came from a graphic design student rather than an in house team. That habit of handing the defining decision to someone else is the tradition a designer collaboration sits inside. Mind 001 is a new numbered line rather than a revived archive shape, which is the harder path: no nostalgia to lean on and no memorised outline to alter. In black, with a collaborator's mark on it, the shoe asks to be judged on its shape rather than on its history.
